May 9th, 2025 – A documentation of the historic inauguration ceremony of the commemoration wall for the members of the Hachsharot HeChalutz of Germany – Shoa victims and survivors – and the recipients of the Bnai Brith bagde honoring The Jewish Rescuer of Jews, “Ot HaMEzil HaYehudi”, during the Shoa. The ceremony took place at the KKL-JNF Martyr’s Forest in the Jerusalem Hills. Israel’s president h.E. Yitzhak Herzog wrote a special congratulation letter which was read by the founder and chairman of the association Yoav Gad at the opening of the ceremony. On May 9th, 1965 thousands of Shoa survivors drove and marched from Kibbutz Netzer Sereni (former Kibbutz Buchenwald) to Jerusalem passing through the Martyr’s Forest and the “Burma Road” reaching the Residence of Israel’s President Zalman Shazar. The participants were greeted by Jerusalem’s mayor Mordechai Ish Shalom and the Knesset Chairman Kadish Luz.
